something has blown so big over the past week and i only get to know it when i read straits times today. and in this case ignorance is bliss.
ah yes yes, if u dun know what am i refering to its best for u all not to know it; otherwise u can happily flip to straits times, home section, H5, 24th october.
though i knew this person, i think we are not in a position to judge. while we can criticize her own ignorant, conceited viewpoint, i think its also extremely unethical of the netizens to go on such an elaborated witchhunt, posting pictures of she, and her friends online and intruding into their privacy. i mean gosh, they even posted her in swimsuit! i think its totally disgusting, not the picture of course , but such a behaviour to steal all these photographs from whatever sources that is (most likely her own blog i think) and publicize it for the whole wide world to see. like what has she done to deserve all this? imagine if you were in her own position, ur own private life is exposed for the whole wide world to see, how would u feel?
nevertheless, i think its a big wake-up call for rjc and perhaps even the whole raffles family. are we inculcating the correct set of values to our youth? though im also part of this so called elitist clan of RJC, but im glad at least i know the plight of the poor people in singapore, since im living in a not so well-to-do neighbourhood, where you can see like poor old people lying around the void deck or the benches, rag-and-bone for a living, where there are people who lives under 800 dollars a month and struggling to pay their utilities fees. now THIS is the real singapore, welcome to reality. the lowest income group (those who earns below 1000 a month) constitutes more than 10% of the population and this income gap is increasing. are the youths too ignorant on this issue or maybe they choose to ignore it? to quote newbie MP Michael Palmer, "Before I joined the grassroots organisation, I never knew there were poor people in developed countries". HMMMMM maybe this explains something!
to quote another source, "One *** *** *** does not constitute the whole R J C. The rest of us from RJ C should not be impeached because of her". indeed, or maybe fortunately there are still nice, down-to-earth people in rj that truly exemplifies the rafflesian spirit of being a benevolent leader through leading in serving, and serving by leading. however this also shows that theres also a small minority group of people who are most probably too spoilt by their parents that they do not understand what is revolving around them.
lastly to end off with another quote: "Bird shit will eventually land on your face if you always walk with your head tilted to look into the sky."
another one bites the dust.

what is supposed to end with a blast turns out to be a whimper in the end.
i shall start all the way from the morning. shifu was showing off his digimon toy and the wonderful things that u can do with it. i proved to him that i am a gosu in the shaking action too.
speaking of which, i think that digimon is a really obiang name now. dude, who still uses digi- in front of their products. to market their products more efficiently, i suggest that they should use the brand name
"iMon" instead.
i think that it would be a good marketing strategy as it suggests a strong sense of individuality as iMon is really a solitary game where u just keep shaking that crap until ur monster levels up or otherwise it turns into a pile of shit.
ok enuff of crapping. the morning civics turns out to be a massive gambling den as the guys showcase their bridge skills and test the extremes of their luck. unfortunately i cannot repeat my 5-club streak again.
got back my progress report. wah sian i thought they will give us a copy of a predicted grade report as well. sian now my report looks kinda lame.
The morning mist greets us while we strolled sluggishly to the hall. ok its not mist but a by-product of a bunch of really inconsiderate ppl in indonesia burning down trees as if they were their nemesis or sth.
i was quite disappointed by the whole farewell assembly thing. i mean like overall its quite a good job as they managed to decorate the hall abit by hanging those banners around and put some plants near the stage and even invited some supposedly bigshot to attend the ceremony. but it just really pales in comparison with the one in ri where like everyone's parents are invited to the ceremony and the ceremony is really elaborated with everyone coming up to the stage and receive their some certificates or sth liddat and everyone gets a personal shot with thier form teachers on stage. and it gets really touching when we get together in the end to sing the batch song and do the raffles cheer. that was when i felt that the rafflesian spirit is really alive, when i felt that everyone has shared so much experiences together. not to mention afterwards where everyone get together and take photos (glam shots) even with ppl they dun really know. i still kept my batch directory till date, filed with wishes and encouragement from teachers whom have made an impact in my life in one way or another.
now look at 2006. same old speech from h****. cant really hear what hes talking but must be one of those rants on how raffles produce thinkers leaders pioneers and blah. then the bigshot came and gave a speech on his life back in rj and all that stuff. then theres this award ceremony where "More than 1000 awards were presented to graduating students, 21 students received the Plaque Award, 53 received the Colours Award, 26 received the Commendation Award, 489 received the Certificate of Merit and 417 received the Certificate of Appreciation" (as quoted from the rj c website.) then junli came and say that we have accomplished much as a batch, and haha i think that this is the most sensible speech of all the speeches.
then after that people either a) collect thier cert of merit/appreciation from their friends and take some photos together as a form of memory or b) rush to the nearest photocopy shop to photocopy notes for S paper or buy test papers or c) aiyah totally waste of time better rush home to mug FTW!!. unfortunately i think b) and c) really outweighs a) so that the school really become really scattered in the end.
i guess when two years is really too short for a batch to bond together well. time really flies very fast in jc and gosh when i saw the j1s preparing for their open house stalls, Raffles Ahoy seems like it only happened yesterday.
i dun think i would have much memories of rjc as i leave this place. it would just serve as another place for me to study and preparing me to further my studies. however i would not forget the experiences and friendship that i have forged throughout these two years. i would not forget the days where 3T guys went out to havoc and terrorising lan shops in singapore with our uber pathetic dota skills and even "clubbed" at Bedok. i would not forget the day which we spent the whole night walking from city hall all the way to river valley and lost our way and laugh our heads off just because ngiap said that if we walk straight we will eventually reach a MRT station and its this kind of really silly things that makes life enriched. well if it wasnt for RJ i wouldnt have known so many wonderful people. if it wasnt for RJ i wouldnt have known my j1 og and the invaluable experiences i got as an OGL. if it wasnt for RJ i wouldnt have seen how self-centered and competitve people can be and as people all went for a mad rush for glory and all that so-called achievements i learnt to take things in stride and take time to smell the roses. so shld i thank rj ? i dunno

somehow i still dun feel that this is the end of my rj journey. it still feels as if we are still as a class, and actually thats quite true as theres still A levels and grad night! then perhaps, its the real goodbye :
this must be the longest entry that i have ever written but theres still so much more to blog about. i dunno why am i in such an anti-establishment mood today but a blos is supposed for u to rant all u want isnt it?

bioremediation anyone?
Monday, October 02, 2006
so i got all my results back. BBBBB3. i would say its not too bad, but of course there are still ample rooms for improvement. some As for chem and bio would be nice, but i think i have already tried my best and pushed myself to the maximum extent so im still pretty pleased with the results overall. My "pass essay, aim low B" tactic works for econs. Now its really time to get down and work hard on my marcoeconomics, which i didnt even bother to try for essay.
Now for the millionth time, i'll still say im disappointed my math result. firstly because i really screwed it up big time and secondly i was too confident of my ability amd didnt practice hard enough. now its food for thought whether i should have spent more time for math instead of channeling them to my other 3 subjects.
1 more month to the big action! time to work much harder!
**********
i've been watching korean dvds at home throughout the past week lol! its called "goong" (not the "goong" in tom yam goong where tony ja beats the crap out of anyone he sees) or loosely translated as "princess hours". im not gonna waste time typing out the synopsis here so if you all want to know how nice it is u all can just watch it on channel U, mondays to fridays @ 7pm!!

the noob girl in the show lolz! she may not be what you'll consider as "pretty" but shes definitely in the "cute" category.
