Armed Dolphins Released Into Gulf of Mexico

An anonymous reader writes "The Guardian is reporting on what may be the weirdest Hurricane Katrina story yet. Military trained dolphins may have been released into the wild by the Hurricane's devastation." From the article: "Experts who have studied the U.S. navy's cetacean training exercises claim the 36 mammals could be carrying 'toxic dart' guns. Divers and surfers risk attack, they claim, from a species considered to be among the planet's smartest. The U.S. navy admits it has been training dolphins for military purposes, but has refused to confirm that any are missing. Dolphins have been trained in attack-and-kill missions since the Cold War. The U.S. Atlantic bottlenose dolphins have apparently been taught to shoot terrorists attacking military vessels. Their coastal compound was breached during the storm, sweeping them out to sea. But those who have studied the controversial use of dolphins in the U.S. defence programme claim it is vital they are caught quickly."

i'll never buy springroll from canadian pizza again. got stones and it taste like shit!

today is characterised by bizzareness. firstly we managed to find another eye-candy (when we tot we have found all of them... u know like pokemon? haha) and the best part is that shes the unofficial chioest boarder in rj hahaha.

the glamourous aura she exudes fascinates barry hahaha.

secondly, the malay barber is amazingly efficient. with lightning speed he snaps my hair like a grasscutter. and within 5 mins my hair is done, at the expense of a traumatised soul.

3rdly, my sis can eat more pizza than me.

urrrgh can u believe it that promos is coming in 18 days.

i have never felt so helpless before... no, not even prelims last yr since i at least know i have the prospect of passing. but this yr maybe the very first time that im going to fail at least one subject.

the power of believe is a very strong force. for example, it keeps fairies alive (finding neverland).

hence, i believe i can get 4 A for promos.

hope it works

Come to me like in my dreams
Spinning everything
And all the while my bones fight
Not to crash down

Now that I know you can be
Everything I need
And anything I'd do to
Find your name

Because in my subconscious
I feel so complete
When we're rolling over hills
In the Massai Land

Watching angels as I speak
Soaring over me
Because every day is a race into the night

I could try to find out
Why these old wings won't fly
Until I close my eyes
Count the lines
And find I'm soaring high
Oh to look up and find you with wings on tight
Your head faced down
You're spinning around
Crashing down on me
Beloved

Follow me to where we hid
The rest of our longs lives
Dreaming in the sun to float away
The manna mysteriously will nourish every day
And thanking God we fold down to pray

I'll find you
And you'll know me from all your dreams
And I'll be
Everything that I know you can be
Dreaming. Loving
And I'll (you'll) be everything

Please come whisper all you know
About this thing called love
And feel it as you speak
Draw you to me
Note the swell that passion brings
And feel it in the air
Come step of from your ledge to soar with me
as long
as
I can be left here to linger in silence
if I choose to
would you try
to understand
Oh the quiet child awaits the day when she can break
free
the mold that clings like desperation
Mother can't you see I've
got
to live my life the way I feel is right for me
might not be right for
you but it's right for me...
I believe...
I believe
this is heaven to
no one else but me
and I'll defend it as long as
I can be left here to
linger in silence
if I choose to
would you try to understand it
I would
like to linger here in silence
if I choose to
would you understand
it
would you try to understand...

alright before we get really emotional with my upcoming entry about teacher's day, lets get really PEMO (pissed emo) at this one.

as u all might know from yesterday's newspaper, new orleans is like in deep shit now, and i mean DEEP. lootings, rapings, and widespread chaos with a dysfunctional state government. police force are like non-existant, and anarchy ensues. yup u can say that the city's in a state of anarchy.

interesting how this sort of thing could happen at america's soil, so-called land of freedom, defenders of peace and democracy?

when i looked at the newspaper, the first thing i thought it was happening at iraq or some third-world country but no, it is USA. and i just couldnt believe my eyes when i saw that three letters. nigeria or congo would be a more suitable term.

and what strikes me the most is that the whole town seems to be full of african americans. could it be that that's why there hasnt been any credible rescue efforts? just because they are black? or just because they voted for democrats and not u lazy son-of-a-gun bush who refuse to cut short your holiday and get your lazy arse tto act in such a national crisis?

if i am the mayor, i would be equally, if not even more pissed and unreserved in my comments. bullshit and pissed are such polite terms compared to FUCK and CHEEBYE. thats right if i was there i would most likely be the spokeperson (pun intended) for our uniqely singapore phrase on CNN or even on FOX. i bet b*sh wouldnt even know what it means haha. cheesebun? im offended

http://www.nigeps.com/uploader/files/1/thatsracist2.gif"

what amazes me is that even in this century, people still has the stereotypical image or if not varying degrees of discrimination. same action, different interpretations, different tones by the same reporter.

and here's an article from some website:

It's hard to comprehend that these repeating images of herds of people without food or water or medical treatment after nearly a week are happening on our soil. They're our fellow citizens and while the politicians, directors, planners and generals congratulate each other at press conferences they are suffering and dying. I have seen some efforts in the media to pressure officials to accept responsibility. None have, because in public office the buck stops nowhere. The only person I have really seen come close to capturing the raw fury of the people trapped in New Orleans or forgotten in Mississippi and Alabama is CNN's Anderson Cooper. He confronted Democratic Senator Mary Landrieu on live TV, chiding her with a voice cracking with emotion that he couldn't believe the politicians were patting each other on the back over a job well done when he just saw rats eating a woman's body in the street of Biloxi. On the Internet I've seen people blatantly placing blame on Bush, FEMA, Congress, the National Guard, and even Homeland Security.

Who is responsible? Who should be blamed? All of them. This is a colossal failure of our government to care for and protect its citizenry on every conceivable level. The heroes are the men and women on the scene doing their utmost to help those in need. Coast Guard rescue workers plucking people to safety and Red Cross workers feeding people from emergency kitchens are heroes. The man who commandeered a bus and got people out of New Orleans when the government was woefully impotent is a hero. The woman who smashed the glass on a convenience store to loot bottled water for fifteen kids who should have been absolutely inundated with supplies by then is a hero. The doctors and nurses hand-bagging ventilator patients 24 hours a day in dark hospitals are heroes. In the ineloquent but true words of the Mayor of New Orleans: "Don't tell me 40,000 people are coming here. They're not here. It's too doggone late. Now get off your asses and do something, and let's fix the biggest goddamn crisis in the history of this country." CNN was better prepared to deal with this disaster than FEMA was.

I am ashamed of my country's government in a universal way right now. Republicans, democrats, opportunists, it doesn't matter; they're all guilty in this situation. In a magical world where justice is actually served most of these people would not have jobs in a month or two. Instead the people without jobs will be the millions who have lost everything and found their government with its back turned. Remember that people are still dying because of this incompetence. Remember that when each and every one of these fools appears on TV for a photo op or complains about "placing blame later," because placing blame now is the only hope America has to change the situation.

an interesting thought strikes me. now we all know that looting is a crime, but does looting for the sake of saving people a crime, or shld they be considered hero? i'm still thinking

overall this incident has seriously tarnished usa's image and undermined their national security and civil defense system (do they even exist in the 1st place). now darfur looks like an even better place to live compared to new orleans. well, at least they have a place to shit.

yepp but b4 telling u al the amazing adventure @ ri, lemme tell u all what happened the day before.

the class went to national library for the cheng ho (pronounced as "whore" haha it shld be the other way round) maritime exhibition, as a desperate measure to fufill the quota of learning journey. what was expected to be a boring journey turns out to be otherwise.

firstly the new library is mutha farking big! even bigger than my condo haha but surprisingly out of 11 levels, there is only one pathetic level, which is the basement, for loaning of books. what is best is that there isnt even enuff tables and chairs lol so we cant mug there.

anyway we took the lift to 10th floor, i think. and its even better than those rides u would expect at wild wild wet. the lift zoomed up very fast, and since it is transparent, it was as though we r levitating off the ground. haha everyone screamed their lungs out (exaggeration).

the cheng ho expedition is quite an eye-opener. 1stly ppl in ancient china is using the same character as what we r using now, without much alterations. which leaves me thinking whether there is a need for simplified chinese to exist. people for convenient sake has been using simplified version for some words, but the chinese that we are learning now is a by-product of cultural revolution madness, with many unnecessary words simplified or simplified to such an extent that it is unrecognisable from the original meaning. my two cent's worth is that simplified chinese should integrate with traditional chinese, and allowed to be used interchangeably, cos the beauty of chinese lies in its complexity and simplified chinese is just plain ugly.

anyway back to exhibition. do you know that geylang is used to be known as "GAY-LANG"? hahaha its true k.and the boats the cheng ho used to travel on is mutha farking big! its 20 times as big as columbus pathetic little crap and u know what theres like 8 other ships accompanying it. an amazing feat indeed, and i shall gladly call it mother-of-all-boats (MOAB)

after the exhibition we went to bugis for dinner, but stuck in a diliemma since the food there is either too expensive or too common that we r sick of eating them. in the end we ended up in a restaurant that offers a main course + ice cream + soup and drinks for only 10 bucks.

which is like, wow cheap!! considering the atmosphere and ambience of that place, 10 bucks for a whole set of meal seems like a pretty bargain.

the food turns out to be edible- on the borderline. it sure evokes a sense of nostalgia for me (and perhaps woo, barb and shuching too) COS GODAMMIT IT RESEMBLES MALAYSIAN AIRLINE FOOD! in fact it is like a fresher version of what they will serve u on domestic flights : would u like ur chicken with spaghetti sir?. only this time its being manicured as grilled chicken with spaghetti - an additional adjective of grilled helps to improve the image of the food, but not so much on the taste.

on the whole it is still quite edible. we had only ourselves to blame anyway since we being greedy consumers chooses that food since it has the prospect of bigger servings. shld have chosen things like baked rice or sth.

anyway for other things it was much more decent. the smoothies were quite good - four dollar is abit pain in the arse though and the ice cream is a pleasant surprise after the excruciating main course.

the guys as usual played truth and dare.... and to be continued!
